Frankie Slaughter, a longtime Virginian, draws from the earth itself, incorporating encaustic, paint, and textiles to create compositions that resonate with the textures and rhythms of the natural world. Her deeply layered works embody a raw, intuitive process that mirrors the landscapes she inhabits. Slaughter's art is about being in the moment—how form finds surface, shifts, and becomes an intersection of texture, line, pattern, and light. Her work embraces the unrefined chaos of life, inviting viewers to stay in the imperfect but beautiful moment. After nearly twelve years living in Hong Kong, she now works and resides in Richmond, Virginia, where her global experiences continue to influence her work.
